The Clash were one of the most influential bands to come out of Britain's punk rock scene in the 1970s.
They formed in 1976, with founding members including singer Joe Strummer, guitarist Mick Jones and bassist Paul Simonon alongside another guitarist Keith Levene and drummer Terry Chimes.
They made their debut supporting the Sex Pistols at a gig in Sheffield that year, but Levene soon departed after becoming disillusioned while Chimes also left a year later because he 'wanted a different life'.
The Clash were a hugely influential band that came out of Britain's punk rock scene in the 1970s.
